Nature-based neighbourhoods

Greening a city, neighbourhood by neighbourhood

Manchester-based Sow the City is on a mission to create greener cities and connect people with nature, starting with the communities that need it most. WFET's core funding supports their work in Moss Side and beyond, including the Greater Manchester Green and Blue Spaces Action Network they've since launched.

Sow the City (STC)

Sow the City is a Manchester-based social enterprise on a mission to create greener cities and connect people with nature. We provide STC with core funding and support a range of the team’s initiatives, including the Nature of Moss Side – a project to map existing green spaces and consult with local people to develop a plan to green the neighbourhood.

STC has gone on to launch the Greater Manchester Green and Blue Spaces Action Network (GBSAN) which supports community organisations in the region to share best practice, identify common goals and develop new projects. See their workshop, volunteering and event opportunities.
